AEM celebrates 20-year anniversary

"Ship ahoy and all hands on board", it said on Saturday night at the Museum of Technology Hugo Junkers in Dessau. The occasion was the 20th anniversary of the AEM, whose motto was a cruise on the MS Deutschland, known from the ZDF series “Das Traumschiff” [The Dreamboat]. The choice was not accidental on the cruise ship because two AEM Generators of type SE 500 L8 ensure the on-board power and are thus crucial for the operation.

For the celebration, the two managing directors Reiner and Tino Storch transformed into the captains and took their passengers, the employees, across the seven seas. They went to places where AEM machines are in use, including Asia, South America, Africa, Scandinavia, and in the border triangle Germany-Austria-Switzerland. Of course each stopover was accompanied by a corresponding program point. Whether bavarian shoe-slapping breakdancers, Chinese dragon dancers, a Russian acrobat or Brazilian Samba dancers, the entertainment was guaranteed and the audience was enthusiastic. Also the gourmets could be surprised, because on board of the dreamboat many culinary delights around the globe waited on the guests. With the traditional inlet of the ice cream cakes stocked with glowing sparklers, as in true Captain's Dinner, the eventful world tour came to an end. Afterwards the guests extensively celebrated and danced into the night and so the successful evening became a memorable one.
