Thanks to sustainable and economical approaches, the Fürstlich Schwarzenberg’isch Familienstiftung Schwarzenberg (Princely Schwarzenberg Family Foundation) should ensure power plant operation at the site for decades to come. It is planned that the Styrian district of Murau will be completely energy self-sufficient by 2015. Around 5.4 GWh are generated using a synchronous generator from AEM Dessau, which is driven by a cross-flow turbine.
